Where is it found/Obtained
Sildenafil is found in the erectile dysfunction drug Viagra. It is only able to be obtained by prescription from a doctor, so therefore you need a prescription to obtain it. Although it was first used to find a cure for hypertension and angina pectoris, it is only used now for erectile dysfunction. Uses and Importances
Sildenafil is used in the erectile dysfunction drug Viagra. The interesting fact about this though is that it was not first invented for this cause. It was originally invented for the cure for angina pectoris and hypertension. These both have to do with high blood pressure and severe chest pains. When Pfizer (creator of Sildenafil) injected it into his patient, he realized it didn't help ease the pain in the chest, but it caused the patient to develop an erection. From there on out he continued his study on the drug and realized the effect it had on older men, it helped cause their ED.
